Kara Blitz has a storied history with the team at Leonelli Restaurant, Bar & Bakery, having worked with Chef Jonathan Benno at Lincoln Ristorante for eight and a half years prior to rejoining the team at Leonelli as the Pastry Chef in the Spring of 2021. In her role, she oversees the menu development and execution of all the focaccia, baked treats, desserts, and confections made daily on-premises at Leonelli Bakery.
A Midwest native, Kara found a love of new cultures and cuisines after her family relocated to the Bay area when she was 11. She studied pastry at the French Culinary Institute and previously held positions at Michelin-starred Cru and SHO Shaun Hergatt before beginning her tenure at Lincoln Ristorante. Kara loves to see the joy on the face of a kid blowing out the candles on a house-made birthday cake and of course, couples getting engaged over dessert.
